Mission Statement

Our mission is to venture out into various Aboriginal communities across Canada to do interactive workshops with the youth and community members, as well as a high energy two hour performance themed with Aboriginal fusion music and dance.

In our performances and workshops, we aspire to empower the youth and community to be connected with their culture and to be proud of their heritage.

What is the Red Road Tour?

The Red Road Tour is a collaboration of Aboriginal Contemporary and Traditional Entertainment, ranging from live musical performances with acoustic instruments to traditional and contemporary dance styles.

Typical performances will include:

• Contemporary music by National Aboriginal Icon and Canadian Aboriginal Award recipient, Jared Sowan featuring his CD "Eclectically yours"
• contemporary hip-hop music performances by Kray‹Z›Kree featuring his CD "ReZalations"
• ShowCase dance presentation by World Champion Hoop Dancer Dallas Arcand
• Cedar flute performance
• Group performance by the participants of the dance workshop with Dallas
• Guest performances by a local entertainer, i.e. Eekwol in Saskatchewan

Typical workshops will include:

• Contemporary Aboriginal Performance - Integration and implementation of cultural concepts, to teach performance skills, choreography, and a basic understanding of music theory. We will train participants in this workshop to perform a song in the evening show.

• Hoop Dance 101 - A High energy workshop / class, which deals strictly with the finesse and technique of dancing, as well as, learning and practicing some of the cultural ideologies that are connected to the dance. Students will learn hoop dancing from the two-time and current World Champion Hoop Dancer, Dallas Arcand.

• Youth Issues - In this workshop, we utilize the Medicine wheel teachings and have a sharing circle to vent out some of the current youth issues, acknowledge the concerns, and work together to find positive solutions.
